SelectaDNA recently approached SNP Security to partner with them in a trial roll out of a new anti-robbery system, for six McDonalds restaurants in New South Wales and a branch of a high profile bank in Victoria.

The electronics teams in both NSW and Victoria did not disappoint, with the trial getting positive feedback from both McDonalds and the bank, so much so, that McDonalds are now planning to have the system installed across a large number of the sites in NSW as the next step. This has also attracted the attention of other fast food chains and banks in the system.
UK parent company, SelectaMark Security Systems PLC, has developed the product “SelectaDNA Spray” which acts as an effective crime-deterrent by ‘tagging’ criminals and their stolen goods at the scene of the crime. This greatly enhances the likelihood of such offenders being caught and prosecuted accordingly.
The spray is mounted on the ceiling and when activated, will emit a fine mist of the SelectaDNA solution onto an offender while simultaneously notifying the local police of the incident in real-time.
The DNA solution glows blue under ultraviolet light and cannot be washed off, remaining on the offender’s skin for up to two weeks and on hair and clothing for up to six months. When the solution is analysed, the unique DNA strand present in each canister of SelectaDNA spray provides the police with irrefutable evidence linking the offender to the crime.
SNP’s Managing Director, Tom Roche, says this product is used to complement an existing comprehensive suite of security measures to increase the overall security system’s effectiveness, as a case in point with the McDonald’s restaurants.
