Two of SNP Security’s most senior executives have put each other to the test, hiking, biking and rowing across more than 100km of rugged Southern NSW coastline to raise money and awareness for The Smith Family Challenge [7-8 March, 2014].
SNP Security MD, Tom Roche, participated in The Smith Family Challenge for his sixth consecutive year while GM People & Partner Strategy, Darlene Winston, took part in the first ever all female team to enter the competition. The event coincided with a number of events SNP Security held to mark International Women’s Day 2014 with staff and clients.
Roche says the friendly competition inspired the SNP teams to raise almost $80,000 of the $430,000 total donated in this year’s The Smith Family Challenge.
“SNP Security is a company that is dedicated to leading the way for community advocacy and sustainability in all areas of our business. This year’s The Smith Family Challenge coincided with International Women’s Day, another annual event in which we work with key partners to raise awareness,” says Roche.
Winston says she relished the opportunity to be involved for the benefit of two important community initiatives.
“Three members of the iLead Talent Exchange joined me in what was the first female-only team to take part in The Smith Family Challenge. We definitely held our own against some very experienced teams and I can certainly say that we’ll be back next year with our eyes on the prize. Congratulations to the rest of the teams on a job well done and the record amount raised for The Smith Family,” says Winston.
